Learn With Lorna

My two boys were well behind the curve in math and required the help of tutors and we worked with a couple others before finding Lorna.  It took about 6 months for my oldest (Howie) to go from the back of the pack to middle of the curve.  By 8th grade Howie was winning math related awards at school (considering that he was surrounded by pretty gifted kids this was very impressive).  

Howie is now in the full IB program at Edmonds Woodway and just finished 11th Grade where he took IB Calculus. Lorna has been with him every step of the way; both boys have each had over 150 tutoring sessions with her since 2015. 

Neither boy is “gifted” at mathematics; their success is the result of hard work and additional effort over a period of years.  Things have completely changed for both of them since working w/ Lorna.  She’s that perfect type of tutor that is responsible to both the students and the parents.  She communicates very clearly, is very personable, reliable and flexible.  She is well liked by the boys (as evidenced by her longevity as their tutor) and by the parents as she get results and holds the boys accountable for their work.  She’s very relaxed and so easy to work with.

Howie says that math is his favorite subject (we did not see that coming at all!)  I tell you all this not simply as a proud parent but because it really illustrates the positive influence Lorna has had on the boys by turning a subject that was very difficult for them into one they are now both comfortable with and even enjoy.  I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Lorna as a math tutor.
